Synthesis Dance Project recognizes the power of dance and the impact it makes on a life. In order to broaden the vision of young minds, SDP holds master classes, workshops and special performances aimed at young audiences. Residency activities have been created for high school and university dancers.
One of the top teachers in New York City, Tracie Stanfield brings energy, style and excitement to her students across the country. Known for inspiring and creative classes, Ms. Stanfield’s passion for dance education is evident in all residency activities:
- lecture/demonstrations
- performances designed for young audiences
- with study materials and Q&A sessions after performances
- technique classes for the dance student and movement classes for the novice.
- Residency activities for universities: classes, choreography and performance
Contemporary Jazz Class – Classes are taught by Artistic Director Tracie Stanfield. Students gain strength, physically and technically, while focusing on the expressive quality evident in Ms. Stanfield’s work. Focusing on efficient movement, a wide range of dynamics and developing a physical understanding of their own body in motion, dancers are free to dance from within – to embody the work while bringing their true self to the performance.

Repertory Workshop – Students learn a portion of current or past Synthesis Dance Project repertoire. Working inside the vocabulary of SDP, dancers find space to make the work personal and explore the marriage between technique and emotion.
Recent projects include: Mesa State College (Choreographer/Educator), International Dance Festival NYC (Educational Director/Choreographer) , Florida Dance Masters (Educator), SouthEast Regional Ballet Association (Educator)
